Candis has been a valued member of our team for eight years and brings more than 20 years of caregiving experience to the families she serves. For Candis, caregiving is much more than a profession—it's a calling. Her role is to help clients remain comfortable and independent in their own homes by providing assistance with light housekeeping, personal hygiene, meal preparation, and daily living activities. However, she believes one of the most important parts of her job is being a companion.

"I want my clients to have someone to talk to, laugh with, and someone they can count on," Candis says.

Candis' passion for caregiving began years ago when she helped care for her grandmother, who had Parkinson's disease. Through that experience, she discovered how rewarding it was to support and care for someone in need. That sense of fulfillment has stayed with her throughout her caregiving career.

One of Candis' favorite aspects of her work is the meaningful relationships she builds with her clients and their families. She explains that she loves her job so much that it doesn't feel like work at all.

"It's like visiting with elderly family members," she shares. "I get to know them and their families while helping them and being a companion."

Among her many cherished memories, Candis recalls one of her longest-standing clients. On difficult days, she would put on a movie for him to enjoy, and unexpectedly he would begin quoting Shakespeare, completely catching her off guard. She would stop what she was doing and listen in amazement before the two of them would burst into laughter together. Moments like these remind her why she loves caregiving and the special bonds that can be formed along the way.

Candis' goal is simple but meaningful: to ensure every in-home care client feels cared for, comfortable, and clean while providing peace of mind for their families. She strives to give family caregivers the opportunity to rest and focus on their own needs, knowing their loved one is receiving quality care from someone they can trust.
