care manager, in home care

At Alegre Home Care, our team members bring unique experiences, compassion, and dedication to the communities we serve. This month, we are excited to highlight Honoré Wis, our Care Manager for Marin and Solano County. Although relatively new to the team, Honoré has already made a meaningful impact through her commitment to building strong relationships with clients and their families.

Honoré joined Alegre Home Care in 2025 and has been serving as the Care Manager for Marin and Solano County since day one. In her role, she works closely with families and caregivers to ensure clients receive the personalized, high-quality care that Alegre Home Care is known for.

Honoré's Journey Into Home Care

Her journey into the caregiving field began on a very personal note. When her grandmother experienced medical issues and needed additional support, Honoré stepped in to help. That experience opened the door to a career in caregiving. She later worked in a care facility as both a caregiver and a med-tech, gaining hands-on experience that shaped her understanding of the field. Although she has since transitioned into a management role, Honoré says that time spent as a caregiver continues to guide her work today.

“Having that experience helps me better understand my position,” she explains. “It gives me insight into both the caregiver and client perspective.”

One of the aspects Honoré enjoys most about her job is the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with clients and their families. Knowing that the services she helps coordinate can improve someone’s quality of life is incredibly rewarding.

“Being able to connect with clients and their families is one of my favorite parts of the job,” she says. “It’s wonderful knowing that the work we do truly makes a difference.”

Honoré has already collected some special memories during her time with Alegre. One that stands out was a visit to a client’s home that turned into an unexpected adventure. The client proudly gave her a tour of his garden, invited her to pick vegetables, and introduced her to his goats—letting her help feed them.

“It was such a fun day,” Honoré recalls. “Moments like that really remind me how special this work can be.”

Looking ahead, Honoré is focused on continuing to grow Alegre Home Care’s presence in Marin and Solano County so that even more families can benefit from the support and services the organization provides. She also hopes to continue growing within the company and making meaningful contributions to the communities she serves.

Before joining Alegre Home Care, Honoré studied to become a Registered Dental Assistant. While dental care may seem unrelated to home care, she has found that many of the skills she developed transfer directly to her current work.

“Working in dental care taught me attention to detail, strong communication skills, compassion for patients, and the ability to work in fast-paced environments,” she says. “All of those skills are very important in home care.”

We are grateful to have Honoré on the Alegre Home Care team and look forward to seeing the positive impact she will continue to make for our clients and their families.

Thank you, Honoré, for your dedication and compassion!
